The Alliance of the Swope Art Museum was awarded first prize in Arts Illiana’s Tablescapes fundraiser. The award was determined by visitor votes during the four-day exhibition of tables decorated by local businesses, agencies and individuals. The Alliance of the Swope created a ‘Moroccan fantasy’ table setting inspired by the painting Harem Girl by Oliver Dennett Grover from 1899 from the Swope’s collection. It was completed by Moroccan music, low seating, cushions, hookas and beautiful rugs and fabrics.
