Thank you for your interest in our Summer Art Studio (SAS) this year. Unfortunately, our registration is officially closed. If you are interested in receiving more information regarding our SAS program for 2021 or any of our other programs, reach out to summer@swope.org or andres@swope.org.
July studios were held at Hawthorne Park this summer.
In place of June studio sessions, online studios were made available to the public free of charge.
Thank you for being patient as we made these changes and thank you for your continuous patience and understanding as we worked through these adjustments.

*We are continuously following the updates in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the safety of the public is important to us, we will monitor the situation closely and make decisions based on the CDC recommendations. We would be happy to address any questions or concerns you may have and we enjoyed working with the community in continuing to provide art studios this summer.*
GENERAL INFORMATION about SAS
Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons. – Al Hirshfeld
Participate in a week-long art adventure. Visit our permanent and temporary exhibitions online and become inspired. Learn alongside our experienced art educators. Experiment with new materials and take home a work of art each day. Projects are geared towards your artist’s educational and artistic needs. Be sure to register early as space is limited.
- Studios are designed for artists ages 4 – 18
- Sessions take place Monday – Friday.
- Sessions are from 9 – 11 AM
- Low instructor-to-artist ratio
- Maximum of 12 artists per session
- All art supplies are included
- Variety of studio offerings
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Registration is closed. Studio sizes are limited to 12 participants and are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
STUDIO FEES
$70 Swope members / $90 Public Non-members
Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Studio sessions are subject to cancellation if there is insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, artists will be notified and refunded in full.
We appreciate knowing as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration. Transferring your registration may be possible as long as there is an opening the corresponding age group for another week. Please reach out to summer@swope.org in regards to registration refunds.
FINANCIAL AID OPPORTUNITIES are available every year!
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Pick up and drop off occurred this year at the Burkabyebyle Shelter at Hawthorne Park.
- All artists must be signed in and out, by a grown-up daily. Artists will only be released to individuals on your Pick-Up form. Please be prepared to show an ID.
- Artists arriving before 8:45 AM must be accompanied by a grown-up and will be asked to wait until instructor is ready.
- Artists must be picked up by 11:30 AM.
There will be no food provided. Artist’s are encouraged to bring their own personal water bottles. Water will be provided. Please encourage artists to eat and use the restroom before attending. Restrooms will be available at the park and will be sanitized on the hour.
SUMMER ART STUDIO ARTIST EXHIBITION
This year we will be doing the Summer Art Studio Exhibition online. All work will be photographed and sent home at the end of each day. An e-mail notification will be sent out to those registered for sessions when the exhibition is online. The exhibition will be uploaded on our website and our social media pages.
